The governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh run dedicated overseas study schemes that reimburse a large part of your tuition and travel for postgraduate, PhD and professional courses abroad. These are grants — not loans — for eligible students from reserved and economically backward categories.

Telangana offers three overseas scholarship schemes through the Telangana ePASS portal, each up to ₹20 lakh plus one-way economy airfare and visa charges: Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi (SC/ST), Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Vidya Nidhi (BC/EBC), and the Chief Minister's Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities.
Andhra Pradesh offers the Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi (AOVN), providing up to ₹10 lakh in two installments for SC/ST/BC/EBC/Minority (including Kapu) students pursuing PG, PhD or MBBS in top-50 ranked universities, applied through the Jnanabhumi portal.
For the Telangana overseas schemes, family income must generally be below ₹5 lakh per annum. For the Andhra Pradesh Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi, the limit is generally up to ₹8 lakh per annum. These limits are set by the respective state governments and revised periodically — always confirm the current figure on the official portal.
